Martial Art Tanding Tournament @ Al-Mukminin

I am happy to announce that Masjid Al-Mukminin has supported my proposal to organise a Martial Art Tanding tournament, tentatively on 25th and 26th July 2009
If this becomes reality, what will happen is the concept can truly lift the honor of practicing silat in general. How can one be convinced that silat can truly defend oneself if it just compete among themselves and with so much restriction in the tournament itself.
The difference in this tournament is there is no restriction e.g. polar langkah and sikap pasangan, for the participant in order to gain points. The points are awarded when the legal areas (according to Tanding Rules) got the hits either from kicks or punches. That means no points will be deducted or the athlete being penalised for trivial matters like sikap pasangan and polar langkah.
This will open the doors to all people from all walks of lives and any martial art (or without it) to enter the tournament…
